NAME: Antique Boy's Day display item of a samurai's bows & arrows in a stand.
AGE: Early Showa (1926-1989)
SIZE: Overall height is 24-3/4" (62.8cm). The bows are 23-1/4", arrows are almost 12" and the table measures 7-1/4" high x 8-3/8"
CONDITION: One bow is missing the string. There are seven holes in the table so two arrows are assumed missing. What's left of the arrow feathers are very fragile and looks ratty now. The table has several small nicks in the lacquer. Two small nails were used to attach the top to the legs. This was NOT original. There are several light hammer marks by each nail and the heads are rusted.
NOTES: There are slits in the table for the bow string (not properly displayed in the picture, sorry). The table has quite a bit of gold painting. The arrows used to have three feathers, each a different color. Made for display on Boy's Day, traditionally May 5th).
Although this is very lightweight, it may have to be shipped in two packages. The length of the bows may trigger a huge surcharge by the post office if packed in anything bigger than a poster tube.
