NAME: Modern creative Japanese kokeshi

MAKER: Shido Shouzan

SIZE: 23-3/4" (60.33), diameter of upper half is 4" and 3-1/2" for the lower half. Weight is 4-1/4 pounds

CONDITION: Excellent. There are some natural wood flaws -- a couple of small knots on the lower back side with a couple of hairline cracks and a couple of tiny bits of wood missing as well as a couple of knots on the bottom with the same issues.

NOTES: You will note a similar doll by the same artist in the Kokeshi Wooden Treasures book on page 137. This one is very detailed as the kimono and hair are carved all the way around. The obi also has carved lines.

The coloring of the doll is darker than the closeup picture of the carved surface indicates. The other pictures are truer to color.
