Yajirobe (Balance Toy), Otafuku & Hyottoko

NAME: Japanese yajirobe or balance toy with the face of Otafuku on one side and Hyottoko (comic dancer) on the other.
SIZE: The doll measures 3-1/4" tall, the stand is 8-1/2" tall, and with the weights attached, it's 17-3/4" across.
CONDITION: A little paint chipping where the top platform is attached to the stand, a little fraying to the cloth attached to the sides of the weights. Otafuku's makeup dots on her forehead have some tiny chips.
NOTES: Very nicely made folk craft item. Although they are wearing one kimono, the outfit is appropriate for each of them. The body and legs are made of wood. The arms are metal. The faces appear to have a gofun finish. The weights and stand are made of wood.
Breaks down for easy transport or storage.
